Representation matters. Giving any community an opportunity to see work from a community they may not know much about helps not only expand that understanding, but enrich the visual language that accompanies that community. Indigenous Voices is meant to be an exhibition that showcases local Colorado contemporary artists, their work, and their voices, giving insight into the rich tapestry of ideas that comes through modern art by living artists who are also Indigenous. Political, cultural, social, and artistically driven, Indigenous Voices showcases artists who embody possibility through the art they create.

"This diptych is the first of my ongoing “Bloom” series, highlighting the labyrinthine nature of contemporary Indigenous women. Each work is independent, but when displayed together, they elevate and transform one another. Focused on healing and sisterhood, the series illuminates the immense power of Indigenous women and showcases the importance of our feminine bonds and interconnected networks of matriarchs. Indigenous women are community leaders, cultural producers, scholars, artists, and often the backbone of our communities; continuously breathing life into everything around them. I look forward to continuing this series and further highlighting the beauty of my sisters.

Thank you to the Museum of Art for housing my works in this powerful exhibition, and a special thank you to Gregg Deal for elevating the voices of our communities. I am honored and grateful to be displayed amongst so many vibrant artists."
